Ultimate Super Bowl Sub

Better than Tom Brady! A game day winner that looks good too!

What makes a sandwich awesome? Awesome enough for even Super Bowl? May we suggest meatballs? Then add gooey cheese, pesto on challah bread! Bring this out you’re your next get together, and see if you don’t score with it.

First, we make sure every member of this team is an all-star! First, we use challah bread. That’s the bread a lot of people use to make French Toast. I like it because this firm egg bread holds up well to heavy toppings. Then we use Momma T's Meatballs bathed in spaghetti sauce. Lots of mozzarella makes it gooey. Fresh grated parmesan adds that nutty element and then bright green basil brings out the Italian flavor of the pesto.

Whether you leave the loaf whole to serve or slice it, the end result is a delicious sandwich that gets devoured. Forget the usual cold ham and cheese sandwich! This one is a homerun!

Cooking tip:

1. Make sure meatballs and sauce are slightly warm before putting on the sandwich. If they are ice cold, when you put it on the sandwich, then the bread may burn while waiting for the meatballs to get warm all the way through.

2. If you make the meatballs ahead, just warm them slightly with the sauce.
