Geodis Park - Kicking up lots of food options.

Going to a professional soccer game in Nashville isn’t just for soccer fans. It’s also a culinary

experience – and a taste of some of the city’s best food!

GEODIS Park opened in early 2022. It’s home to Nashville SC that became a Major League

Soccer franchise two years ago, one of the few MLS teams in the South. It isn’t shy about letting those Southern roots show.

The stadium food offerings are plentiful – more than 40 food and drinks stations, including a

huge assortment of local spirits and beers. With so many noshing options, it’s best to go early, so you won’t miss any of the game while trying to figure out what to eat. That’s where we can help:

Twang Town is known for its Hot Chicken, a dish with a steamy past!

More than 75 years ago, Thornton Prince came home late night with lipstick on his collar. He woke up to the wonderful smell of fried chicken. His scorned sweetie had dumped copious amounts of cayenne pepper on it to get revenge. But Thornton loved the fiery chicken, and several years later opened a fried chicken joint with the recipe. At the park, you can try Prince’s Hot Chicken Sandwich or Chicken Tenders with fries.

Corner Pub is a Green Hills staple and family owned, specializing in homemade fare. Even the salad dressings are homemade. GEODIS Park offers an outpost of the local bar that sells the Corner Pub Burger - an 8-ounce meat patty, topped with pulled pork, smothered with house-roasted poblano queso and then drenched with ranch dressing! Get plenty of napkins when you order, and consider coming to the game wearing something in forgiving Spandex that’s washable.

We went to a game during Hispanic Heritage Month, so colorful mariachi bands played during the breaks, although the stadium’s nod to Latin heritage is felt throughout the park. The couple sitting in front of us were from Cuba originally and ordered the fried plantains from Chivanada Empanadas, which they deemed tasted authentic and delicious. The Nashville Latin food truck turned stadium eatery also sells a beef and a chicken and cheese empanada. I immediately had food envy.

However, I enjoyed my choice - Central BBQ’s pulled pork nachos. The spicy jalapenos, sweet barbecue sauce, salty crisp chips and tender pork were a nice blend of flavors.

Alebrije Tacos serves Mexican-style street tacos in nixtamal tortillas, which is a traditional process in Mexico and Central America that means the corn is soaked in lime water.

Daddy’s Dogs takes the ordinary bun, meat combo as a blank canvas for its Nashville SC Dog. You’ll need fuel for all the yelling, singing and standing during the game. It’s got jalapenos, bacon, cream cheese, Big Daddy’s secret sauce and (wow) peaches!

Pizza lovers can hit local favorite Rockin’ Dough for their pesto and pepperoni fix!

Attendees park all around the stadium. Santa’s Pub on Bransford Avenue is a favorite hangout for locals walking toward the park before the game starts. Look for a decked out double-wide trailer loaded with Christmas kitschy decor and a front porch. The karaoke bar has one rule:

“No Beer, No Cussin', and No Cigarettes on Santa's stage!” Who’s jumped up there? Music artists like Kacey Musgraves, Kelsea Ballerini, Ed Sheeran and Big Kenny to name a few. Denzel Irwin (aka Santa) says his $5 beers have been an attraction for soccer fans since the stadium opened.

Nashville SC has given fans a reason to cheer – on the field and off!
